"No surprises" as hiring intentions cool down in Q2

Australia's hiring intentions, like the rest of the world, are continuing to moderate, the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS) shows.

Almost one in five employers (19%) expect to decrease headcount in the June quarter, up five percentage points from the current quarter. The largest portion of employers (41%) now intend to keep headcount steady (up three pps from Q1).

Meanwhile, the number of employers planning to increase their headcount has fallen six percentage points to 38%, and the rest (2%) are unsure...
