"Exciting" election result but staffing challenges loom

The federal election result represents a refreshing change for Australia, but many questions remain over how the next Government will approach issues critical to the staffing sector.

RCSA CEO Charles Cameron describes the weekend's result as "exciting" for the nation overall.

"With more representation of community and human values within Canberra it is likely that Australian politics has been changed forever," he tells Shortlist.

"Never before have we seen a party form Government with primary support from only one in every three of the voting population and this presents some intriguing challenges for the country.

"For RCSA, and our community of recruitment and staffing professionals, our priority will be to ensure that the new Government understand the challenges of the modern labour market, and the essential role that our members, as labour market intermediaries, play in ensuring the right people are available to do the right job in the right way...
