Four-day week sends recruiters' engagement "through the roof"

Two years after moving to a four-day week, there's 'no going back' for technology recruitment specialist Precision Sourcing, according to MD Simon Hair. The agency has been having "record quarter after record quarter", and the four-day week is one of the top three reasons why, he tells Shortlist.

Hair says that every time he posts about the practice, he's inundated with questions from other recruitment leaders about how it works, and it's a topic he expects to cover in detail at APSCo Australia's upcoming Emerge conference.

He explains that at Precision, the goal is for everyone to have Fridays off. This means employees have "weekly reviews" on Monday morning, where they discuss their plan for the week ahead and what they need to do to meet their goals for the quarter, "and we're very much there to help them achieve those goals, advise [them], and point them in the right direction".

Then, if those outcomes are met by Thursday, "[they] go and have a three-day weekend"...
