Onboarding flaw puts executive placements at risk

Amid an increase in executive hiring, a leadership expert warns many of these appointments are doomed to fail if proper attention isn't paid to onboarding.

Dr Ty Wiggins, a leadership, transitions and executive onboarding expert at Russell Reynolds Associates, says he regularly sees both leaders and organisations struggle with executive transitions.

"There's a lot of talk now about this 'Great Resignation', and I think we're seeing it overseas hit a little bit earlier than it's hitting here. But on the back of that we must be then facing this 'Great Transition'.
