Talent named an 'exceptional workplace' for fourth year

More frequent, transparent communication has boosted employee engagement and led to Talent being named an exceptional workplace for the fourth year in a row – and the only Australian company recognised in the global list.

The annual Gallup poll surveys employees across 12 areas, then determines how engaged the workforce is, on average.

"Engaged really means someone who's passionate about what they're doing, they're committed to working hard and continuous improvement," Talent people business partner Georgia Townsend tells Shortlist.

This year Talent's APAC business scored 80%, up from 73% a year earlier. According to Gallup, anything over 60% is world class, and just 20% of employees on average are 'fully engaged', she says.

"That's a huge difference, and we've worked really hard to make that a priority across the business..."
