U&U taking leadership to "next level" with key hires, people focus

U&U is appointing new managers to help tackle all the "peripheral noise that comes with recruiting", as MD Craig Sneesby highlights the industry's need to shift leadership practices up a gear.

"The sophistication of leadership in recruitment is probably a little bit light, and if there's one thing I want to achieve with U&U it's building a very strong leadership development program," he tells Shortlist.

"I'm really keen to get our leaders more skilled, more developed, trained better. I think the industry as a whole probably undervalues leadership training and development."

To combat this, the company has hired experienced people and culture manager Kym Nelson, who is focused largely on training, development and performance leadership.

Most recently Nelson was people and capability general manager for transport and logistics business Young Guns; before that she was strategic partnerships GM at Davidson and senior manager for Hays Adelaide, where she worked for more than 14 years...
