Agency adds bonus scheme to profit-based remuneration plan

Canberra-based IT recruitment specialist, Whizdom, which has long used a profit-share incentive scheme for its staff, has finally "succumbed" to paying recruiters a bonus for activity and placements, says managing director John McCluskey.

Whizdom is one of the dominant suppliers to Federal Government departments in Canberra, but is now actively expanding into other states, and the additional incentive aims to attract experienced talent into the business, says McCluskey.

He notes that high-performing consultants in the other capitals generally expect some type of commission-based pay system.

Whizdom has long refrained from paying commission and bonuses, in favour of a company-wide, success-based profit-share scheme based on hours worked, McCluskey told Shortlist in 2021. ..
