"Apathy" about hiring manager interviews reduces fill rates

Only a tiny portion of recruiters prepare hiring managers for interviews, despite this being one of the simplest ways to improve placement conversion rates, an industry advisor says.

Feedback platform Recruiter Insider CEO Justin Hillier estimates only about 2% of recruiters are helping hiring managers to become better interviewers.

Recruiters make false assumptions that hiring managers know what they're doing, he says. "We feel that we don't need to consult. We think that they've got the ball, they know where they're running to."

However, Hillier tells Shortlist, his data suggests "they've actually got no idea"...
