Award-winning employment pathway tackling hard-to-fill roles

A recruitment company recently recognised for excellent client service has found "success breeds more success" in its program for developing ICT and cybersecurity talent.

Vertical Scope Group won this year's RCSA award for excellence in client service after developing the WorkPath Australia training and employment program to help veterans transition into civilian employment.

The program, which was also recognised in last year's social purpose award, helps place ex-military veterans with "great attitude, aptitude, EQ, IQ, loyalty, and a real eagerness to work hard, and that fit the mould with what a lot of our clients wanted for their employees", says VSG operations manager Peter Spiridis.

"Initially, when we developed the program it was focused on veterans... but what we've found is that we've been able to offer a really unique service for our clients [who] face a lot of shortages in the industry and have a hard time finding and retaining their staff," he tells Shortlist...
