Better data needed to support talent strategies

Too many internal recruitment teams still lack access to the types of data and analytics that can properly inform their talent strategies, an advisor says.

At the recent Talent Table events in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne Paula Valenzuela, who hosted the sessions, says it became clear that TA leaders needed much better insights to guide their organisations' hiring practices.

"Data analytics offers 'game changing' information," she tells Shortlist.

Many talent leaders present, for example, had no idea about their cost of hire when this is an essential metric: "if you want to get buy-in, do an analysis on your cost to hire"...
