Billers still in demand but juniors out in the cold: rec-to-recs

There is still good demand for proven recruiters but roles for rookies and junior recruiters are limited across all sectors, according to a panel of rec-to-rec specialists.

"There is a massive shortage of top recruitment talent across Australia and the Asia Pacific," says Dean Stallard, founder of rec-to-rec boutique Dean James.

With principal consultants and billing managers, "I could place fifty of them tomorrow [with] no problem", says Stallard, but demand for high-level operational roles is especially low in Australia.

Encouragingly, both Stallard and Your Career director Will Gordon see demand for tech recruiters picking up, especially in cyber and cloud, and Gordon expects momentum to build in the sector as the year continues...
