Budget 2023-24 targets skills and migration improvements

The Federal Budget for 2023-24 will help deliver more of the skills employers need, according to Treasurer Jim Chalmers.

Many of tonight's Federal Budget measures were released in advance, including the aged care pay increase; lower childcare costs; and various cost-of-living initiatives.

But Chalmers has announced the Government is negotiating with the states and territories on a new five‑year national skills agreement that would commence from 1 January 2024. Pending the outcome of these negotiations, the Budget contains $3.7 billion for this initiative...
