Charterhouse revamping L&D, employee experience

Learning and development is the "silver bullet" for recruitment companies concerned about retaining employees, but it has to be reviewed and refreshed regularly, according to Charterhouse CEO Jason Darbyshire.

Darbyshire has always advocated strongly for L&D, believing it's a "key tool to both attract and retain people", and says this approach is supported by employees' feedback collected as part of its participation in the Great Place to Work program (last year, it ranked 18th in the 30–99 employee category).

However, "what was popular, relevant and new today can get old pretty quickly," Darbyshire tells Shortlist. Therefore, he is already working on Charterhouse's learning and development strategy for next year.

"We are looking at what we will keep, what will we retain, what will we drop, what will we improve and what we will we bring on that's new, so we have a comprehensive platform for all of our people...
