Contractors' novel bid to claim employee entitlements fails

Two workers found by the High Court to be independent contractors have failed to prove they should nonetheless be classified as "employees" for superannuation purposes.

In the mid-80s the truck drivers agreed to buy trucks and enter into contracts with ZG Operations (previously their employer), and formed partnerships with their respective wives.

After the agreement with ZG was terminated in 2017, the workers sought unpaid entitlements, arguing they had been employees...
