"Coworker quality" driving candidate decisions

One in five jobseekers now say the "quality" of prospective coworkers is a driver when considering a new role, requiring employers and recruiters alike to pay "serious attention" to the issue.

Gartner's Global Talent Monitor also shows one in four jobseekers cited coworker quality as a reason for leaving an organisation in the first half of this year. (Read more about the top attraction and attrition factors here.)

This is the first time coworker quality has appeared in these lists, according to director of Gartner's HR advisory, Robin Boomer.

Candidates are always going to be concerned about their compensation and their manager, but issues such as coworker quality are fast becoming "effective sorting mechanisms" when weighing up their options, he tells Shortlist...
