Employers' current gender pay gaps are set to become public, under new laws now before Parliament.
Minister for Women Katy Gallagher introduced the Workplace Gender Equality Amendment (Closing the Gender Pay Gap) Bill yesterday.
Currently, companies with 100 or more employees are required to report their gender pay gap to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), but only the aggregate figure is publicly disclosed.
If passed, the law will allow WGEA to report gender pay gaps at employer level, not just industry level...
