Recruitment leaders are making headway when it comes to identifying top talent for themselves and their clients, but some continue to overlook key competencies, or to fully appreciate the role environment plays, assessment specialists say.
AbilityMap cofounder and CEO Mike Erlin gives the example of working with a large sales-based organisation, which had complained about its hiring success.
"We invited forty of their sales managers to use our software to define what they each thought was critical in a sales role in their company, in their region," he says.
"It took them each 10 minutes to do it and we found there were 40 different views as to what they thought performance was...
