Fair to sack manager with "cavalier" approach to placement records

There was nothing unfair about an employment services company sacking a manager who falsified placement data and in doing so threatened its "very existence", the Fair Work Commission has found.

AimBig Employment Pty Ltd, which assists individuals with disability to find and maintain employment, dismissed the area manager in July last year after substantiating allegations that she had falsified employment records for the purpose of receiving 'outcome payments'.

(The organisation receives these payments when the individuals it serves, referred to as 'participants', remain in employment for at least 52 weeks).
