One of Australia's best-known and long-established mid-sized recruitment companies, Hallis, has gone into voluntary liquidation, with preliminary accounts showing a deficit of more than $18 million.
The accounts show the largest creditors are the ATO and offices of state revenue, however around 80 employees are owed more than $1 million.
Hallis was established in the late eighties by Steven Hallis, and quickly became a thriving business in the call centre space, later expanding into IT and a range of other sectors.
By the early 2000s it held a dominant position in contact centre recruitment and was regarded as a leading mid-sized recruitment company with a blue-chip client list...
