Hiring intentions holding up, but IT "clearly shifting"

Employers' hiring intentions are slightly lower for Q4 but IT demand is set for a major slump, according to ManpowerGroup's latest research.

The ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS), covering 1,020 respondents, shows 45% of employers intend to increase headcount in the December quarter; down just one percentage point from the current quarter.

Some 39% of employers plan to keep headcount steady, while 13% expect to reduce staff, and 3% are undecided. This brings Australia's net employment outlook (NEO) to +32% after seasonal adjustments...
