How job ads are (still) frustrating candidates

Three in four jobseekers say job ads contain inaccurate or vague information, among other complaints about recruitment processes, according to Seek research.

"If the information is too vague, then it doesn't speak to the people looking at it," says career expert and coach Kirsty Anne Ferguson, commenting on Seek's findings.

"That means that [recruiters] haven't defined the role or the specifications clearly enough, so you would perceive that as inaccurate information, because you're being too broad in the content that you're using."

Seek's study found 74% of jobseekers are frustrated by this – for example, some note that the advertised job title might not reflect the responsibilities listed, or it might suggest a different role...
