'Immersive' approach moves executive recruitment beyond the 'veneer'

An "immersive" approach to executive recruitment is helping organisations remove some risk from the hiring process, but it's also "a delicate balancing act", according to Transearch International MD Bill Sakellaris.

Immersive hiring is about taking extra steps to determine whether candidates are a strong organisational fit, both culturally and skills-wise, he says.

"Traditionally, the hiring process has been somewhat a veneer – a candidate gets to meet the CEO, chair of the board and possibly some other members of the C-suite, but never really go past the boardroom," he explains...
