In-house recruiters abandoning 'too slow' reference checks

Reference checks are falling out of favour, according to talent acquisition leaders, who say they slow down recruitment processes while not adding enough value to hiring decisions.

"We're losing candidates to our competitors, so we've stopped doing reference checks," said one delegate at a Think Tank event last week, facilitated by Talent Table director Andrea Kirby.
