Intrusive, redundant questions leaving job applicants "frustrated"

Many organisations still fall into the trap of asking "intrusive" and "redundant" questions in their job application process, and candidates are not having it, with one in five dropping out partway through, new research shows.

The vast majority (85%) of job applicants consider application forms 'convenient and straightforward' to complete, according to a new PageUp report, based on feedback from 185,000 applicants, applying across 377 companies.

And this might lead recruiters to think there's no need to change anything for the remaining 15%, says PageUp head of customer insights and market research, Rebecca Skilbeck.

But it means 14,200 job applicants did not have a positive experience...
