IR changes reduce employer confidence in hiring temps: RCSA

There's been a larger fall in 'flexible' vacancies compared to perm, which is unusual given the current uncertainties facing the economy, according to the RCSA.

Job ads for flexible roles (including casual, temp, and fixed term contract) fell 14.7% in the March quarter, while ads for perm fell by 1.4%, the RCSA's latest Jobs Report shows.

"This is unusual in the current climate," says RCSA head of advocacy Brooke Lord. "The data indicates a degree of optimism from employers who remain confident enough to take on permanent staff, despite the economic challenges," she says...
