Is recruitment's relationship with booze at a turning point?

If the recruitment industry wants to be truly inclusive, it might need to reconsider the central role that alcohol plays in celebrating success, an agency leader says.

There is a growing subsection of recruiters who don't want to drink and who feel "ostracised" during celebrations at the pub, says Mint Recruitment MD Pete Watson.

"I don't think the leaning on of alcohol is exclusive to the recruitment industry – I think there's plenty of industries that celebrate with alcohol and commiserate with alcohol," he tells Shortlist.
