IT sector losing more talent than it's gaining

More than one in seven IT workers changed jobs in the past year, and the sector is losing more talent than it's gaining, a new Peoplebank report shows. Meanwhile despite professionals clearly demanding more work-life balance, government employers are pushing back on flexibility.

According to the Peoplebank Salary Index, compiled using LinkedIn data and its own recruitment insights, 15% of IT professionals changed jobs in the past year, and the median tenure of this workforce is 1.9 years.

The fastest-growing titles are associate consultant, customer success manager and cloud engineer (which bumped senior manager down to fourth place).

The most IT jobs growth was seen in the think tank and biotechnology industries (25%), followed by e-learning (23%)...
