Job board founder up for award; Recruitment conflicts in spotlight

Work180's CEO is among six "female trailblazers" recognised for disrupting business models and bringing new ideas to life. Meanwhile a corruption commission says it is specifically targeting selection processes as a key risk area for abuse of authority.

Gemma Lloyd, who co-founded the company seven years ago to highlight job opportunities in companies with female-friendly policies, says "it's huge to be recognised... because the more women that know the story and that they don't have to put up with bad workplaces, the better".

Work180 has been going from "strength to strength" and has moved beyond its initial focus of "putting in paid parental leave policies", she tells Shortlist.

"We've kind of moved past that a little bit more, and it is an enhanced version of those types of things – so making sure that anyone has access to paid parental leave, regardless of gender or primary/secondary care status...
