'Jobwashing' is jeopardising lasting placements

As employers get more creative and competitive in their hiring, there's a risk of 'jobwashing' impacting the longevity of new hires, warns HR Partners by Randstad NSW GM, Katherine Swan.

Jobwashing – conveying a false impression or providing misleading information about an employer brand – can occur both deliberately and inadvertently, she tells Shortlist.

In both cases, prospective employees are presented with a 'dream' employee experience that doesn't match reality.

Swan says it's important to raise awareness of jobwashing, not just so candidates can beware of being misled, but so recruiters and hiring employers can beware of misleading them...
