New restrictions flagged for non-compete clauses

The former president of the Fair Work Commission has called for new restrictions on restraint clauses, in a paper that will further fuel government moves to limit their use.

Dr Iain Ross was president of the FWC for 10 years and his views are influential in federal Labor party policy.

In a new paper for the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, Ross notes that more than one in five Australian workers are now covered by non-compete clauses, which "are no longer confined to highly paid executives"...
