PX focus will fill expectation "gaps" in recruitment

There's "always a gap" between what recruiters promise and what they deliver, but as employers focus more on "people experience" this will change, a branding expert says.

Recent years have seen a "massive shift" in what candidates and employees are looking for, says Lightbox Communications CEO Mike Beeley, and this is occurring alongside the move from HR to "people experience", which recognises not only that employees are an organisation's most valuable asset, but that "every experience they have, every touchpoint they have with the organisation", should be positive, and build a positive relationship.

This means EVP work is "not once a year, not once every three years", but about going into the business to "fix things" every day, he says.

"It's fixing the gaps between what people expect of us as an employer and what we deliver... What did we sell them when they came in, whether it was direct or through a third-party recruiter... and what are the gaps...
