Recruiters and the 'right to disconnect'

The "surprise" new right to disconnect that will be introduced to Parliament will add yet another area of regulation to staffing providers, a workplace lawyer says.

As reported on Friday, the Labor Government plans to introduce an amended version of the Closing Loopholes No. 2 Bill this week.

Subject to crossbench negotiations, it will include a new 'right to disconnect' for employees, although at the time of publishing this article the wording of the provisions was yet to be made public. Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke has said, however, that it might involve an 'availability allowance'...
