Recruiters "dusting off" traditional sourcing strategies

With recruitment demand "exploding", and far exceeding application volumes, a gap that can't be filled by old sourcing strategies is emerging, an industry analyst says.

Job openings globally have increased by 105%, but applications remain 8% below pre-COVID levels, according to PageUp's latest research.

"That's a huge delta, so it's really speaking to just how tight that market is at the moment," says PageUp head of customer insights Rebecca Skilbeck.

"Instead of talking to our customers around, 'your volumes are too high, how do we reduce it', we're now talking to them about 'your volumes are low, how are you getting the right type of applicants'..."
