Recruiters making 'small tweaks for profound impact'

Allowing consultants to "look under the bonnet of the business" and benchmark it against industry competitors is lifting productivity and performance at a technology recruitment specialist, its managing director says.

Enterprise IT Resources has been using benchmarking data from Staffing Industry Metrics (SIM) for some time to identify and address problem areas, says MD Sarah McCandless.

"The business has always been very healthy, but [the data] certainly gave us some insights into how we would identify performance gaps quickly and how we could just improve our productivity and performance of the business," she told an APSCo event this week.

"We were definitely sailing through some murky waters with our commission plan at one point, paying non-performers, and we really had to look at that," she says by way of example...
