Recruiters still shifting hiring managers away from "the dark ages"

Recruiters need to "keep fighting that good fight" and maintain the momentum they've picked up during the pandemic in guiding hiring managers, a talent acquisition leader says.

With the talent market set to remain tight, it's critical that recruiters don't let managers "snap back into those old mindsets", says Red Cross head of recruitment Libby Mitchell.

Most importantly, that involves encouraging them to maintain flexibility – both in terms of hours and location – in employees' roles.

"The market will help, and candidates who reject offers that are too rigid will help, but I think TA people can do a big piece of work in that space as well," she tells Shortlist...
