Recruiters urged to stay alert as scammers up their game

A recruitment agency's recent brush with a scammer serves as an important reminder to be wary of client approaches that look too good to be true, its managing director says.

A recruiter employed by the agency, which has requested to remain anonymous, was contacted by a person representing themselves as a TA leader in a global medical company.

"It's not like we don't get inbound stuff," the MD says, so the approach didn't ring alarm bells at first.

As things progressed, however, the TA leader became to seem "fishy"...
