"Reject the Bill in its entirety", recruitment leader urges Parliament

The Federal Government's proposed IR reforms "completely disregard" the industrial rights and agency of labour hire workers, according to a recruitment leader who is urging a Parliamentary Committee to reject the Bill "in its entirety".

Following the Government's introduction of the Closing Loopholes Bill last month, a Parliamentary Committee inquiry is now underway, with hearings being held this week, and 27 submissions received so far from concerned parties.

In a submission from healthcare recruitment specialist Talent Quarter, MD Sue Healy says the legislation, and particularly the 'same job, same pay' measures, will inject further uncertainty into Australia's IR system, negatively impact wages and job creation, and create "enormous compliance complexity"...
