Removing on-hire worker from host site was a dismissal: FWC

It was "disingenuous" of Adecco to claim it didn't dismiss an on-hire worker, after it removed her from a host site due to misconduct, then made no attempt to find her other work, the Fair Work Commission has ruled.

There was no reasonable basis upon which Adecco could argue the worker remained employed and had not been dismissed, Deputy President Judith Wright said in dismissing its objection to facing her general protections claim.

The case involved an on-hire worker employed by Adecco at Amazon's Kemps Creek site, for about nine months until August 2023...
