Robert Walters getting "fit to fight" through down market

Robert Walters is building out its middle layer of consultants to be "fit to fight" as the market turns, while investing more in development at all levels, says ANZ CEO Shay Peters.

Peters, who was appointed CEO this year and recently attended Robert Walters' global CE conference in London, tells Shortlist the same macro factors are affecting the business in all regions in which it operates.

"The candidate shortage is still ever apparent, however organisations are taking a lot longer to make decisions," he says.

"They're looking for the perfect candidate, not the first candidate now. And the key metric that we're seeing which impacts the recruitment industry significantly is the time to hire metric... Across all regions for Robert Walters this is definitely extending."...
