Slade Group marks 55 years with global award wins

Slade Group is this month celebrating 55 years in business, with founder and chair Geoff Slade noting time spent on transforming the organisation has contributed to record results and some global award recognition.

"It's been the winter of discontent for a lot of clients in the last two years, because the talent market has dried up to such an extent that they're either having to compromise or do without," he tells Shortlist.

Hierarchical structures are largely gone, with companies "much flatter than they were even five years ago", Slade says.

"People generally don't leave their jobs unless it's because they're being poorly managed, or they're not being offered opportunity, or they lack engagement or interest," he adds.

"Today, they're much closer to the decision making than they ever were before..."
