Staffing sector goes backwards on crucial gender metrics

The gender pay gap in recruitment has nearly tripled, while the proportion of women in key management roles has reduced, according to Shortlist's analysis of company data submitted to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.

From 98 agency and employment service provider submissions, the WGEA identified that 46.7% of employees are women, unchanged from a year earlier.

But for full-time employees, the average total remuneration gender pay gap sits at 16.1%, up from 5.7%.

The gender pay gap for managers has decreased slightly, dropping from 24.8% to 21.1%, while increasing significantly for non-managers – from 1.7% to 14.1%...
