TA demand in decline; Data-driven recruitment still in its "infancy"

Talent acquisition is "the one area" of HR where hiring demand is declining, research shows. Meanwhile data-driven recruitment remains elusive for many in-house teams, which are yet to move from 'reporting' to 'analytics'.

"We've seen a close to 7% drop in talent acquisition roles this quarter in comparison to the last quarter," says The Next Step managing director Jo Skipper, referring to the organisation's latest HR Job Opportunity Index.

"My prediction is we will see that trend continuing as organisations are really balancing out. If there is no external talent to bring in, you don't necessarily need to have these extremely large teams."
