'Talent advisor' roles on the rise as shortages bite

TA is evolving beyond recruitment and taking on more of an advisory role as the function becomes increasingly critical to organisational performance, says industry advisor Trevor Vas.

The spotlight is still on recruitment as the talent crunch remains, causing the role of TA to shift, he tells Shortlist.

"There's changing needs of stakeholders. Both from a candidate, employee and stakeholder perspective, there's a hell of a lot more transparency. There's a hell of a lot more understanding of the market and recruitment's role in that market.

"There's been more focus on recruitment recently, with talent shortages, than there has been in any other period in TA."

Vas says it's easy for candidates to "substitute", so employers are investing more heavily in TA...
