TAs struggling to "do it all" amid mounting expectations

In-house recruiters are facing a major conundrum of feeling expected to highly specialise while also "doing it all", a conference has heard.

Talent acquisition is still considered the "poor cousin of HR" and too many employers treat the role like a "glorified admin", according to delegates at #TruAustralia.

The question of how to future-proof and upskill TA and talent management functions is a difficult one, says Talent Table director Andrea Kirby, especially since TA is not a 'degree' of its own, but rather a smaller component of overall HR qualifications.

But delegates shared their experience of feeling unable to know everything they should and stay up to date with the rapid evolving market; the sentiment that TA "can't do it all" imbued the conversation...
