Tech salaries plateauing amid macro headwinds

Pay growth in the tech sector is showing signs of plateauing in some states, as the market returns to normal after a period of "white-hot" demand, according to Talent's latest salary guide.

"The beginning of 2023 is showing a continuation of the trends we saw at the end of 2022," says Talent Sydney managing director Matthew Munson.

Macro "headwinds" are having a knock-on effect to employers' hiring confidence, "as employers are unsure of how this year will play out and how long the global inflation problem will continue. The result is a market that is similar to the pre-pandemic conditions, with employers either taking a cautious or bullish approach", he says...
