"Tread carefully" with AI to avoid bias: report

"AI-powered recruitment is a double-edged sword when it comes to workforce diversity," Hudson RPO CEO Kimberley Hubble says, in launching a new report on how to reduce bias while embracing AI tools.

Diversity Council Australia has now concluded three years of research in partnership with Hudson RPO and Monash University, and today it has launched the final report in this research, setting out a five-step program to reduce bias in AI-based recruitment.

"If used appropriately, [AI] can pave the way for superior experiences and job opportunities for diverse candidates, but conversely, if used without the necessary understanding, it can reinforce systemic bias and discrimination," Hubble says...
