UK expansion opens "talent freeway" for U&U

U&U has expanded into the UK, opening a "talent freeway" for the company and empowering its future leaders. Meanwhile the team is on track to celebrate a record number of million-dollar billers, says MD Craig Sneesby.

"London for us is an exciting opportunity, born out of a few factors," he tells Shortlist. "We've recently added Sam Walters and Chad Lawson into the team – Sam as the Victorian general manager and Chad as NSW general manager – and the combined experience in the London recruitment market between those two guys is 17-odd years. So there's a significant understanding, knowledge and network within the London market."

Sneesby will oversee overall direction, strategy and growth, but the new operation and its soon-to-be-appointed country manager ("we're relatively close to an announcement") will report into Walters, he says.

Former Taylor Root associate director Benedict Roberts has been appointed to spearhead the UK and offshore legal practice.
