"We're at the cusp of a general decline in demand," jobs data shows

A downward trend is becoming apparent in job ad volumes, indicating a "return to normal", while candidates are becoming more conservative in their demands, industry leaders say.

According to Rover's data, there's been a "marginal decline" of about 5% in job ad volumes in the past three months compared to the previous year, says founder Saxon Huggins.

After a period of "extreme lows and extreme highs", he says, "now, we're at the cusp of a general decline in demand".

"In saying that, it's more a return to normal. It might not be as high demand as people have enjoyed, but we generally prefer it to be a bit more normal...
